Join us every Thursday in June for The Reading Room at City Stage Co. - our 2016 Staged Reading Series of original plays by local playwrights.
Fourth up is "Ordinary Giants" by Erika Edwards; directed by Hal Cosec
SYNOPSIS: It's 1997 in Pittsburgh. In an attempt to accomplish something of substance before turning thirty, two friends set out to record an obscure electronic album. The only thing standing in their way: themselves. Eli, the aspiring musician and keyboardist, spontaneously proposes to his girlfriend while Jack, the writer struggling with his own mediocrity, remains haunted by the end of his whirlwind marriage.
PLAYWRIGHT BIO: Erika Edwards is a North Carolina native and recent transplant to the Wilmington area. Her love for writing covers everything from plays to short stories to screenplays. Most recently, she wrote and directed a short film - "33North, 77West" - which was shot in two days in Kure Beach, North Carolina. Erika is exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to workshop her first full-length play with City Stage Co.'s Reading Room.
